Design Brief
Creating my own version of Pop-Up Park!
-
Fit into a small area about 25m to 35m;
-
Organic or asymmetric footprint;
-
Be transportable so that the micro park is easy and quick to build, install and move;
-
Support layered activities and multiple uses. This means that you should consider what sort of place you are aiming to create. Is it a vibrant place? A restful place? Or something else?
-
Have an interesting appearance that attracts people and encourages them to stay in the area;
-
Not remove or demolish existing surfaces or fixed elements as the micro park is temporary;
-
Include somewhere to pause or sit;
-
The last point in the official brief addresses a budget.

RESEARCH
GAREMA PARK, CANBERRA CITY
Last year there was a park design competition for Garema park, Civic, in Canberra city that was run by the ACT Government.
The competition is obviously closed and the winner has announced last year September. Henderson family which is Louise, Andrew and Poppy have taken the first place with more than 220 votes in the ACT's inaugural micro parks competition for their finished design called "The Grounds of Garema".

"Moodboard is an arrangement of images, materials, pieces of text, etc. intended to evoke or project a particular style or concept. we put together a mood board with key images and words that best convey the essence of the design".
A moodboard is an inspiration and gave ideas for the final design of the pop-up park. The aim is to enhance the place that will make it attractive to catch the audience's attention.
These collections of images on the left side gave me ideas that help me easily create the project. I'm Inspired by the style, table sets, chairs, playground, shapes and size of the coffee shop.

Concept 2 is almost the same as the concept 1. I changed the coffee shop into a square shape. It would be better if it's square shape, you won't have to struggle to find something circle/curve shape that will fit in to the circle shape coffee shop.

This park is one of the urban designs, this will improve the quality of being suited to serve a purpose well and attractiveness of public space. A place where you can hang out with your friends and families or even by yourself when you want to relax and relieve the stress. The appearance will surely attract and encourage people to stay because of its bright colours and the site which makes it vibrant.
The site includes coffee shop, plants, trees, vegetation, giant chess, playground; books blocks, board games, small chairs and a place where to eat and relax; table set, colourful chairs and table with big umbrellas for protection from sunlight and rain.
